Meet Our Doctors

Courtney Martusiewicz

Courtney Martusiewicz, DDS, MS

Dr. Courtney Martusiewicz was born and raised in Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Cellular Molecular Biology and a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Michigan. During dental school, she earned recognition for her clinical, academic, and research excellence. Her research on oral complications following bone marrow transplants was acknowledged at national conferences and won first place at the University of Michigan's 2011 Research Day. Graduating in the top 5 of her dental class, she received multiple awards and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon honor society.

Experience

Following graduation, Dr. Martusiewicz practiced general dentistry for nine years in Chicago, St. Louis, and metro Detroit, with a focus on pediatric and cosmetic dentistry. She prioritized continuing education during her years as a general dentist. Upon moving back home in 2018, she joined the local Spear study club and met with Dr. Kumar. As her involvement in the study club deepened, so did her interest in orthodontics. Recognizing the crucial role a patient's bite plays in overall dental health, she decided to pursue a career in orthodontics.

Education

Dr. Martusiewicz earned her Certificate in Orthodontics and Master of Science degree from the University of Detroit Mercy. She received extensive training in traditional braces, early treatment, Invisalign, TMJ management, orthodontic management of orthognathic surgical cases, and craniofacial anomalies. Her master’s thesis studied airway changes following orthodontic treatment.

Dr. Martusiewicz looks forward to bringing her perspective and experience to the office. Having spent 9 years as a general dentist, she is passionate about providing orthodontic results that are more than just straight teeth. It is important to her that each patient's treatment is personalized to establish a functional occlusion that will last a lifetime. "I spent many years fixing patients' teeth because their bite wasn't right. Now I get to prevent that for them!”
